Biography LF System

LF SYSTEM are DJ /Production outfit and West Lothian, Scotland natives, Conor Larkman and Sean Finnigan. Purveyors of the finest Disco infused house music, the Scottish duo broke out in 2022 with the omnipresent sounds of their anthemic single “Afraid To Feel?

Larkman and Finnigan first met while playing football against each other as teenagers on rival teams. However it was only later when they reconnected whilst out at Scotland’s nightclubs that they truly bonded over their shared love of the music. This led to them playing B2B DJ sets and very soon they established themselves on the Scottish DJ circuit with regular stints in Glasgow and Edinburgh clubs such as FLY and Sneaky Petes.

As the partnership and trust grew they would eventually join forces again in the studio creating their own productions, initially sharing their disco edits on SoundCloud before dropping their own tracks on the platform shortly after . One of those was their first major single “Dancing Cliche”, which picked up early club support from Ewan McVicar, Elliott Adamson, Danny Howard and TSHA. After quickly becoming a big club hit Danny Howard proceeded to play it for 5 consecutive weeks on Radio 1, before it was even signed or released!

The big moments kept on coming, with a sold-out ‘in minutes’ show at Sneaky Pete’s in Edinburgh and being named as The Blessed Madonna’s One To Watch for 2022. Then their new track “Afraid to Feel” was picked up, and when it exploded over the summer, their world was truly turned upside down. Its uplifting sounds were a welcome blow off of steam after lockdown.

“Afraid to Feel”, spent eight weeks at #1, and is the longest running Number 1 dance record (equaling fellow Scot, Calvin Harris’s hit ‘One Kiss’). It has already exceeded 270 million streams and is certified 2 x Platinum in the UK, as well as Platinum across Europe and Gold in Australia. It went on to win ‘Dance Track Of The Year’ at the BBC Radio 1 Dance Awards, and was nominated for ‘Song Of The Year’ at the 2023 BRIT Awards.

After “Afraid To Feel” LF SYTEM’s DJing went into a higher gear in 2022, with their first Boiler Room at FLY Open Air in Edinburgh, headlining Fabric, a sold-out Night Tales show, 2 x headline sets (including NYE) at Warehouse Project, making their Ibiza debut playing B2B with Danny Howard at Amnesia, a sold-out 4 month tour of UK and Europe, sold-out home country shows at Liquid Room (Edinburgh) in 24 hours and SWG3 (Glasgow) in 2 days, and a set at Secret Project festival during ADE. They followed up in the Autumn with another single, “Hungry (For Love)”, further flexing their disco muscles.

Production-wise in 2023 LF SYSTEM have been toiling away in their West Lothian studio, honing their dancefloor weapons, plus have joined the Ministry Of Sound family for their new releases. Their first single for the label “Dancing Shoes (Take Me Higher)” was launched as Hottest Record on Radio 1 with Clara Amfo in the Spring.

They followed this in the Autumn with the supersized club single, ‘Big Sax’, with its locked in 4/4 groove, piano stabs, and freestyling jazz-tinged Saxophone solo. Right off the back of that, they found time to collaborate with House heavyweight, Paul Woolford, on yet another single “In My Head”, do a remix for Jamie Jones’ “Lose My Mind”, plus delivered another remix for Dom Dolla …all before the year was out!

In 2023 their live schedule continued at pace with their debut Australia & NZ tour in February, followed by their debut US tour in March with all headline shows sold-out in advance. This resulted in multiple festival offers, including Portola (San Francisco), and EDC Orlando, Boo (Seattle). Back in the UK they closed a headline slot at TRNSMT festival in Glasgow on second stage (King Tuts) and had other big outdoor festival slots at Glastonbury, Radio 1 Big Weekend, in Creamfields and Reading & Leeds.

Across Europe and the rest of the world they performed at Hideout, Exit, Tomorrowland, had multiple Ibiza dates, and made their Brazilian debut at Green Valley. For the rest of 2023 they continue their World Tour with shows at Manchester, Warehouse Project; Barcelona, Razzmatazz; Berlin, Ritter Butzke; New York, Avant Gardner; LA, Sound Nightclub; Sydney, Lost Paradise and Melbourne, Revolver. LF SYSTEM have an upcoming headline show at Village Underground, London on November 17th, before embarking on their Australia/New Zealand leg at the end of the year.
