Jazzy M the DJ, Record Label Owner and Record Shop retailer shares his history from the beginning of hearing the neighborhood DJ at his local wine bar to making his way as a dancer on the floor. His next steps are making his way to working at the shop and making his way to pirate radio. He gained a huge following due to pirate radio and breaking all the new house music that was just beginning.

Jazzy M talks about his record shop called OHZone Records and the beginning days of his record label. He also shares the background story of Richie Rich “Salsa House” and the signing of Orbital “Chimes” to his label OhZone. Jazzy shares the background story of Ministry of Sound and him being a big part of the start of it all.
He sets the record straight in so many ways. Grooverider renamed Jazzy, “The Godfather Of UK House” The story is deep and full of so much rich dance music history.

Biography Jazzy M
Michael Schiniou aka Jazzy M over a 40 year career in the music industry. Head Honcho to Ohzone Recordings who’s first release was Chime by Orbital. Worked with many great stars of our time including, Arthur Baker, Paul Weller and The Style Council. Has played in over 80 countries throughout the globe. Played special parties for Maradonna, Janet Jackson.
The DJ that brought you House music to the UK tagged by Grooverider as The Godfather of UK House. Started as Jazzy M on London Pirate LWR back in the Mid eighties with the show that started it all called The Jacking Zone and this started the use of the word Zone as his record store was Vinyl Zone soon to come back online and also the relaunch of OhZone Recordings whose first release was Chime by Orbital and not forgetting the 3rd release being the massive Epoch 90 V.L.S.I Heaven.
Was the first DJ to play The Ministry of Sound and occupied a number of senior positions at the company over the last 20 years. Was resident DJ in the UK for over 15 years and for International Tours representing the brand in over 80 countries.
Jazzy has worked under many different Band Names such as Klubzone 1, Sao Paulo, Dub Nation, Zoogie, Erotic World, J+M Connection, RipJazz Bernard and Phillip, JZJ and Bushbaby and TGW, this was something of a trend to do this back in the late 80s to early 90s and also because Jazzy teamed up with other writers and producers as well as doing different style genres under pseudonyms.
This is not the same thing to do any more maybe one or 2 more, as marketing through social platforms is the way forward with brands.
